Integration Bridge

How border logistics in the east are changing

Efficiency depends not only on a completed bridge, but also on vehicles, operating hours, whether they are loaded, customs and the return journey.

Does a new bridge automatically make logistics faster?

No. The change depends on who can cross, at what time and through which of the two crossings. How the operation works is the key.
01 · FROM CONSTRUCTION TO OPERATION

The Integration Bridge began operating in stages

The bridge connects Presidente Franco with Foz do Iguaçu. It officially opened to vehicle traffic on December 20, 2025, beginning with a gradual pilot plan. From August 3, 2026, the permitted vehicle categories, passenger services and operating hours were expanded.

The central question is how the Integration Bridge and the Friendship Bridge are starting to work together according to vehicle, load, service, destination and time of day.

02 · RULES FROM AUGUST

Different operations have different conditions

For small-load transport, unloaded vehicles enter and leave through the Integration Bridge between 7:00 and 19:00, while the loaded return journey uses the Friendship Bridge. Local border transport can use the Integration Bridge between 7:00 and 19:00 under the applicable documentation requirements.

Certain closed-circuit passenger services and regular international routes use the Integration Bridge 24 hours a day. For empty trucks, the operating hours are 20:30–5:00.
