PARAGUAY BUSINESS WEEK 2026

Can eastern Paraguay become a regional investment platform?

The point is not just a three-day event. It is to see how much of what is presented later turns into business, financing, investment and operations.

Is watching the event enough to tell whether investment is really moving forward?

First, we need to separate activity at the event from projects that actually move forward. A large figure is useful only when we understand exactly what it represents.
01 · CONTEXT

What to watch at PBW 2026

Paraguay Business Week (PBW) 2026 is scheduled for November 11–13, 2026, at Espacio Tasks in the Itaipú Technology Park (PTI), Hernandarias, Alto Paraná. This second edition brings together the 17th Expo Paraguay Brasil and the Alto Paraná Invest Forum 2026. The Expo's theme will be ‘Technology, Innovation and Industry 4.0’.

For PARAGUAY INSIGHT, the central question is not how large the event will be. It is whether eastern Paraguay can combine its border with Brazil, production networks, maquila, logistics and new investment tools to build a business base that does not rely solely on the domestic market.

02 · THE 2025 BENCHMARK

The figures are large, but they mean different things

The 2025 results give a sense of PBW's scale. However, expressions of business interest, possible financing and a portfolio of projects are not the same as investment already carried out.

The connection with Brazil changes the role of the east

From January to July 2026, Brazil held an important position in registered exports, registered imports and maquila export destinations. These are different statistical groups: they should not be added or subtracted as though they were a single measure. Together, they show different connections between trade, supplies and manufacturing for export.

How to read the figures: registered exports, registered imports and maquila exports have different denominators. They should not be combined as though they were one measure.

What changes on the ground

At the border, factories, components, trucks, customs, warehouses and people come together. Being close to Brazil is not enough: operations depend on deciding where to place each process and how to coordinate them.

04 · PBW 2026

The 2026 figures are still projections

PROJECTION · NOT A RESULT

The organizers project more than 10,000 attendees, more than 130 exhibitors and more than USD 450 million in business opportunities. These are targets set before the event, not results. The detailed agenda, speakers, exhibitors and 2026 project bank will be checked again at each update.

If PBW is to establish itself as a regional investment platform, it should be judged by what happens afterward: which projects move toward financing, contracts, construction and operation.

06 · BUSINESS IMPLICATIONS

Implications for international businesses

From information to a decision

Alto Paraná can be assessed as a production and logistics base close to Brazil, a platform for export manufacturing under maquila, a place to build local partnerships and a market for equipment, industrial technology and specialist services. PBW can offer an entry point, but it does not guarantee an opportunity. The next steps are to verify figures and rights, visit the location and obtain specialist advice on the applicable regimes.

Less excitement, more follow-through

The event lasts three days. For an investment decision, the important work starts afterward. PARAGUAY INSIGHT will follow whether the east's industrial concentration, trade with Brazil, investment and maquila frameworks, and border logistics can connect to form a functioning business ecosystem.
